analgesic agents are used. The effects of the analgesics may vary with different pain models
(Gray et al, 2005 Level I; Oscier & Milner, 2009). However, it may be reasonable, in some
circumstances, to extrapolate estimates of analgesic efficacy from one pain model to another
(Barden, Edwards, McQuay et al, 2004 Level I).
